Can't Keep Your Pet?

TSIR is an extremely small, foster-based rescue. As such, we prioritize animals facing euthanasia in overcrowded shelters. We cannot currently accept owner surrenders or community strays.

At TSIR, we believe that adopting or purchasing an animal represents a commitment to care for it for the duration of its natural life, and we offer free consultation to support pet owners in maintaining custody of their animals:

• For pet owners facing financial stress, contact us for a list of low-cost and free animal-care resources.

• For owners of pets with behavioral challenges, contact us for a free behavior consultation via video-chat.

• New family member with allergies? Moving? Contact us for a free consultation to help you problem-solve!

In some cases, animal surrender or rehoming is the only option. In these situations, we advise:

1. Contacting relevant breed-specific rescues in your area.

2. Use the Adopt-a-Pet Rehome tool (below) to seek a new home for your pet without subjecting them to the stress of a shelter. Rehome listings will appear in the "Community Pets" section of our Available Animals page.

3. Contact No-Kill or Low-Kill shelters in your area. Note that some of these organizations may have a waitlist.
